Why does stainless steel water pipe use clamp type stainless steel pipe?
For people who have not had contact with stainless steel pipes in the past, the connection of clamp type stainless steel pipes is very strange. Another question is why stainless steel pipes cannot be connected with threads, quick installation, etc., and instead choose clamp type stainless steel pipes? Galvanized iron pipes are threaded connections, and pipes with threaded connections need to have sufficient thickness. In order to supply threads, galvanized iron pipes have a high wall thickness, and completing the thread supply treatment is not a problem. The wall thickness of thin-walled stainless steel pipes has always been between 0.6-0.8mm, which cannot meet the small wall thickness requirements for tooth supply. The PPR water pipe is a hot melt connection, which uses a hot melt machine to heat the pipe mouth and pipe fitting mouth, then immediately connect the pipe mouth and pipe fitting mouth, wait for the temperature to drop, and complete the hot melt connection. However, as a type of metal pipeline, stainless steel water pipes need to reach a melting temperature of over 1500 ℃, let alone whether the heating setting can be designed to a high temperature of over 1500 ℃. Even if it can, on-site construction is not safe.
The connection between PVC-U water pipes and fittings adopts adhesive bonding. Apply special adhesive to the pipe mouth and quickly connect the pipe fittings. After the glue dries, the PVC-U water pipe and fittings are bonded together. Can stainless steel water pipes be connected with glue? There are also many metal adhesives online. It is not feasible to connect stainless steel water pipes with glue, why? Because stainless steel pipes are not only used for daily tap water, but also for hot water, and adhesive connections are used for hot water, the adhesive will lose its bonding effect after heating for a period of time. Even PVC-U pipes will not be used for hot water pipes in decoration projects. Clamp connection is a connection method suitable for stainless steel water pipes. In the past, clamping components were also used to connect copper pipes, but due to the higher cost of copper pipes compared to stainless steel pipes, copper pipes were not widely used. The clamping type stainless steel pipe is equipped with a rubber sealing ring inside, which is more reliable than traditional threaded and hot-melt fittings. Using specialized clamping tools for installation, the installation and connection are also very simple. Both cold and hot water can be used without the problem of glue falling off. Therefore, it is recommended to use double card fittings for stainless steel water pipe connections. The U-shaped groove at the end of the pipe fitting is equipped with a dedicated rubber sealing ring. When installing, simply align the stainless steel pipe end with the position of the positioning step, and then use a special clamping tool to squeeze the U-shaped groove of the clamping part on one side.
Extrusion is to make the rubber sealing ring act as a seal, and the clamping part of the pipe and the pipe shrink at the same time, forming a hexagonal shape to achieve a fixed effect and achieve the connection between stainless steel pipes. The hot melt process is divided into four steps: gluing, cleaning, hot melt, and connection, each of which requires professional technical operations.
The temperature and time of hot melt have a significant impact on the firmness and tightness of the connection. Once not handled properly, it can lead to pipeline leakage and breakage.
